Whether you are struggling with your day-to-day life or dealing with bigger obstacles, I can help you build coping skills and emotional insight for more exploratory work in individual therapy. With attachment-informed therapy, we can work on identifying early attachment wounds and how that might be influencing your current patterns of thinking, even if it no longer serves you. Together, we can take action towards healing the most relationship — the one you have with yourself.
Individual Therapy
For couples who are struggling with seeing things from each other’s perspective or having frequent communication breakdowns, I can help you learn some tools to de-escalate conflict and build your emotional bond. With attachment-informed therapy, we can work on exploring how early childhood attachment influenced your current understanding of love, conflict, intimacy, and what it means to be in a romantic relationship. Together, we can take action towards building trust, identifying emotional needs, and reducing defensiveness for healthier communication between you and your partner.
Couples Therapy
As a therapist, I am committed to staying up to date with evidence-based treatments and using interventions from a wide range of therapeutic models to best support my clients and fit their needs. For example, for clients looking for therapy to address their experiences of trauma, I have received training and supervision in a therapeutic model specific to trauma, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) that I use as a foundation for my trauma work with clients today. Please read more on my “Specializations” tab to learn more about the types of training I have received.
Evidence-Based Therapy
Social Justice-Informed Therapy
I am conscious of the ways our intersections of identity as humans can affect our mental health, especially in our world today. Due to my own lived experience as a first-generation Latina woman with immigrant parents, I understand the challenges that can come from navigating bi-cultural experiences. On a personal level, I have long been committed to social justice, especially when it comes to feminism, racial justice, disability rights, and LGBTQ+ advocacy. As a therapist, I strive to be culturally conscious to identities outside of my own and create a safe space for all populations that are systematically disadvantaged.
